The island of Samsø is Denmark’s renewable energy heaven.

The people of Samsø heat their homes with straw burned in a central heating system and they power some vehicles on biofuel which they also grow. Now 100% of its electricity comes from wind power and 75% of its heat comes from solar power and biomass energy. An Energy Academy has opened in Ballen, with a visitor education center. The academy is currently working towards making Samsø 100% fossil free.

Samsø Downhill is located on the farm “Vorbjerggård”. Vorbjerggård has always been known as a good place for children and adolescents to come and play and have fun. Now, thanks to Steen and Britta Brorsen, a 140-metre long Zorbing site awaits young and old during the summer.

Both harnessed and Spa downhill rides are available, as well as flat-ground Zorbing.
